PCC celebrates 58th anniversary

Christians of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC) have celebrated the 58th anniversary of the church under the theme, “Transformed to Serve”.

Activities to mark the day took place across the over 30 Presbyteries of the PCC in Cameroon.

In the Yaounde PC Bastos Parish, commemorative activities were celebrated alongside the 30th anniversary of the church.

On the occasion, the Parish Pastor, Rev Emmanuel Basam Masock preached a soul-touching sermon with inspiration from Mark 4: 30 – 32. Focusing on the theme, “The kingdom of GOD is like a Mustard Seed”, Rev Emmanuel Basam Masock traced the history of the PCC and PC Bastos, calling on Christians to never be afraid of beginning small.

One of the highpoints of the occasion was the reading of the message from the Moderator of the PCC, the Rt Rev Fonki Samuel Forba. The Moderator’s message was a call for unity, renewal and transformation.

The occasion was also an opportunity to recognise the founding members of PC Bastos when it started at the Marie Gocker Parish and later moved to the present site of the Protestant University of Central Africa (UPAC), then to Djoungolo and now its present location in Nkoleton.

The ceremony was graced with beautiful choral singing, dancing, parades from the Young Presbyterians (YP) and Sunday school and special presentations from the constituted groups of the Church.

There was an exceptional song presented by the Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF) which was pregnant with symbols of the founding fathers of the PCC.
An innovation in this year’s celebration was the special CYF parade with framed photographs of former Moderators of the PCC and Pastors of PC Bastos.
