New Yaounde Metropolitan Archbishop Jean Mbarga welcomed

The Esplanade of the new building of the Communauté urbaine de Yaoundé (CUY), was awash with excited people who had come to witness the occasion of the welcoming ceremony of the new Metropolitan Archbishop of the capital city by the ecclesiastical community of Yaoundé, the municipalities of the city and all of the forces of the central region.

Government delegate Gilbert Tsimi Evouna, offered a vehicle to welcome Archbishop Jean Mbarga to the ceremony on Saturday.

Present at the occasion was the Director of the civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic, Martin Belinga Eboutou, and many other Government officials.

During the Eucharistic celebration chaired by Bishop Jean Mbarga himself, he extended his gratitude for the warm welcome reserved for him by the people and the authorities in the capital city. He was assigned at the head of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Yaoundé on October 31, 2014.

By promising to work alongside the administration to consolidate integration, unity and peace in Yaoundé, the Metropolitan Archbishop recalled that there is a strong collaborative relationship between all delegates from the Government at the CUY and the Catholic Church.

"We have come to pray for peace to reign in Yaoundé and that the city is kept away from anything that could possibly disturb its tranquility", he said.

Regarding social life, the Archbishop promised the increase in the contribution of his Church to education and health. Gilbert Tsimi Evouna promised a candid collaboration in pursuit of the work of city building.

The event did not pass without recalling the happy coincidence of the arrival of the new Archbishop and the completion of the construction of the new building that now serves as a showcase of the CUY.

Occasionally, the Archbishop blessed the new building with its congregation and told them to work at the mercy of God, so that they serve their homeland with love.

But the big surprise at the end of the celebration, was the gift from Gilbert Tsimi Evouna to the Archbishop: a brand new vehicle, Land Cruiser Prado, a means of transport which should help the Archbishop to go everywhere to meet the people of God and preach the good news of Jesus Christ.
