Muslims recieve assistance to ease fasting

The Yaounde V council has donated food items estimated at FCFA 4 million to Muslims of the municipality as they start the month of fasting.

The donation was made by the Mayor, Yvette Claudine Ngono Etoundi Ayissi for the second consecutive year during a ceremony at the council hall.

Imams from each of the 19 mosques in the subdivision shared the 69 bags of rice, 39 cartoons of suger and 39 cartoons of refined oil donated by the council. They intend prayed that God should bless Cameroon seven times.

Each of the Imams from the 19 mosques located within the Yaounde V municipality received 3 or 4 bags of rice, 2 cartoons of suger and 2 cartoon of refined oil on this first day of fasting to help them during the Ramadan period.

The donation made by the Yaounde V council is intended to assist the Muslim community break the fast with ease. according to the Mayor of Yaounde 5, Yvette Claudine Ngono Etoundi Ayissi, it's a show a solidarity with the Muslim community for the second consecutive.

The gesture by the mayor was highly welcomed by the followers of Mohamed who pray that God blessed Cameroon 700 times. The mayor highlighted religious tolerance and peaceful cohabitation in Cameroon as indispensable.

The imams on their part expressed gratitude and thanks to the council for the food items that will assist the muslims during the month of the holy coran.

They took the commitment to pray for peace, integrity and prosperity in the country and to preach respect other religions to their followers.

The consignment of 65 bags of rice 39 cartoons of suger cartoon n 39 cartoon of refined oil to be shared in 19 mosques is estimated at FCFA 4 million.

The representative of the Muslim community called on the population to continue the solidarity gestures in homes n multiple their blessings.

The Imams said they will pray to Allah to fortify the peace, progress, national unity n integration in Cameroon.
