Evangelical Church displays solidarity in fight against Boko Haram

The Evangelical Church of Cameroon (EEC) offered special prayers for tolerance, love, faith, and above all, the protection of the living God in the fight against Boko Haram which sows terror in the northern part of the country.

During a worship organized in solidarity with the armies at the front and the families of the victims, the preaching of the Rev. Philippe Nguété, president of the region Synodale of Centre-Sud I relied on Psalm 33, a biblical text which enshrines the supremacy of God on things possible and impossible. "Let all the Earth fear the Lord, because he declares and it comes to pass. The Lord destroys bad people’s projects. Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord ' Psalm 33.

The leader of the day expressed regret that the world has become a jungle where the law of the strongest triumphs, where men kill without mercy nor law simply to show their power. But the war, weapons that triumph are not always those of the strongest and examples from the bible to support it.

The message of the EEC read by Rev. Hesham Moungole, Vice President of ECC, is a message of commitment to the Lord of hosts. And for victory, ECC instructed Christians to be peace makers in vision and in action, proposed Philippe Nguété, "by love and friendliness, forgiveness, the sharing of spiritual experiences", added the Rev. Lucas Moundé.

He declared messages of warnings such as "all those who kill by the sword will die by the sword" or even "our help comes from the Lord", but also the words of appeasement and victory: "Let's go back to God for a true and lasting peace", "Jésus Christ, the Prince of peace said no to war."

The service which took place on Sunday at the Yaoundé Omnisports Stadium attracted over fifty pastors and thousands of faithful as well as political authorities.
