Over 50 physically challenged persons in Meme Division, Southwest Region have received donations in kind and cash worth FCFA 700,000 from the Faith Ministries International Kumba.

According to Pastor Betrand Agwu, the recent donation was intended to rekindle the interest of the rich in helping the poor. Handing over bags of rice and cash to the beneficiaries, Pastor Agwu explained that the activity was in line with the teachings of the Bible.

He urged the persons living with disabilities to understand that they constitute part of the society.

In a sermon delivered on the occasion, Pastor Agwu said the Bible condemns those who feed fat on their riches without thinking of the poor. He advised the rich to think of the poor at all times.

The Man of God stressed that some Landlords, Directors of Corporations and even the Clergy have failed to treat their collaborators with love and respect.
To him, every human being is created by God,as such, all must strive to share and love one another.

ThePastor said giving to the physically challenged should be done as a divine assignment and not to show-off wealth as some people do.

Agwu said the action follows divine directions for the church community to reach out to a class of people who are important, but often neglected.

He advised other Churches, Pastors, individuals and well-wishers to adopt a spirit of sharing with the poor as part of their sojourn on earth.

Takang Ayah, President of Close the Gap Association Kumba, expressed gratitude to the Church and its partners for thinking about the physically challenged.
Takang said the donation was unique because the church also takes care of the spiritual needs of the people.

Another beneficiary who gave his name as Bea appreciated the gift, but told the audience that everyone else in the world is physically challenged. Bea said unless a person is able to leave without the support of others, before he/she can consider himself hold.

To Bea, there are many things that those who are tagged disabled do that others cannot do to contribute to the wellbeing of Society.

The donation ceremony was to launch the foundation arm of the church that will be focused on reaching out to society.
