Church Services Liftoff New Year

Christians nationwide began the New Year, 2014, in the presence of God through special cross-over church services from 2013 to 2014. It was an opportunity for Christians to thank the Lord for having kept them alive throughout last year.

At the River of Life Christian Church, Etoug-Ebe, Yaounde, just like at the Etoug-Ebe Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) Baptist Church, Christians began praising and worshipping God some hours before the year. Pastor Rose Amah of the River of Life Christian Church said it was important for people to celebrate the New Year because they lived through the entire 2013 and seeing the first day of the New Year alive and strong made it but normal to glorify the Lord because many people did not see the day.

Pastor Rose Amah said the New Year, 2014, is a year of glory and Christians need to work hard so that the glory of God will be manifested in their lives, families, nations and the African continent at large. Yesterday's church service gave Christians another opportunity to praise God by singing and dancing, sharing the word of God as well as sharing prophetic gifts like salt and matches. The woman of God said the Prophetic gifts are in line with the message of the year which is drawn from the book of Isaiah 60:1-2 which tells Christians to "rise and shine for your glory has come". Pastor Rose Amah said prophetically, the salt will add taste to the lives of Christians and it will preserve their lives while the match represents the light of God. "We believe that our lives are going to shine throughout the New Year," Pastor Amah underlined. Christians in other churches were told God has already prepared the New Year and it will all depend on how they will enter into it, for they need to have faith in God, listen to and obey his words.
