Catholics remember Nsimalen phenomenon

Catholics renewed their attachment to the mother of Jesus through celebrations on the Nsimalen-Yaoundé site last Wednesday.

The atmosphere was the Wednesday prayer at the Marian Shrine of Nsimalen where many faithful came to celebrate the 29th anniversary of the Marian apparitions.

Sitting, standing or kneeling with arms raised to the sky, sick and healthy persons have not missed this twenty-ninth meeting of faith in Jesus Christ through the Virgin Mary, His mother. Because under her coat graces abound.

The pilgrims so tidy mats, mattresses and carpets, the time for a Mass in memory of the Nsimalen phenomenon. On this occasion, Archbishop Jean Jacques Minkande, deputy head of the Diocese of Ebolowa, representing Bishop Jean Mbarga, Metropolitan Archbishop of Yaounde prevented, reminded the faithful of the place of Mary in the faith.

Thus in his homily drawn from the Gospel of St. John, the celebrant described Mary as the one who sees God and who only contemplate. "When you're with Mary, Jesus is holy," he suggested. Standing near the cross, she supported her son through suffering. "The will of Jesus is his mother.

It is to her that he gave his last instructions: Woman behold your son and son behold your mother ", the inspired words of Jesus Christ on the cross. Words that cater to every disciple of Jesus Christ, for it is through Mary that Jesus passed to get to us. In Jesus Christ, there is the body and blood of Mary. Those who do not honour, separate God from his mother.

For the rector, Father Jean Bertrand Mengue Awondo who saw the presence of the Virgin by testimonials wonderful things going and growing affluence of the faithful, it is the apotheosis of the activities marking this 29th birthday.

"There is no other advertising than word-of-mouth, that is to say the conversion testimonies of healing. I can only thank God for this gift through Mary, for what he does through Nsimalen. And for women, it is a grace to see Nsimalen transformed into a place of pilgrimage which strengthens faith, "he says.

And this is not Philomena Zoa Meyong, Apostolic servant living there for 29 years or Gisele Domisseck, responsible for all preparations for the celebrations of this sanctuary .
