Camair-Co to transport pilgrims to Mecca

According to the Minister of Territorial Administration (MINATD) René Sadi, Cameroonian pilgrims will be transported by the Cameroon Airlines Corporation (Camair-Co) to Mecca.

This has been an epilogue of a long controversy between the Government, organizer of the Hajj, the Muslim organizations in the country and the national company for many years.

The Government had previously placed its hopes on foreign companies, particularly the Ethiopian Airlines for the transportation of these pilgrims.

According to introduced sources, president Biya himself took charge of the file and instructed MINATD to accord Camair-Co the privileged among the choice of other airlines for this expedition, a market whose profits are estimated at 600 million FCFA for some 3500 pilgrims.
