WHO donates Ebola kits to Cameroon

The World Health Organization (WHO) has donated kits for the prevention and protection against the Ebola fever to Cameroon even though the disease has not yet been detected in the country. It is however, a known fact that the virus is present in neighbouring country Nigeria.

"It is not expedient that we wait for disease to arrive in Cameroon before we act, this is why WHO is supporting the Government to prepare before any possible cases of the virus hits the country", said representatives of the international organization.

Prevention and protection equipment included 1,000 boxes of images used for education and awareness of health personnel, disinfectants, 100 units of 10 facilities for the protection of doctors and nursing staff, 1,000 pots of 45 kg of magnesium chloride, as well as pharmaceutical products.

These health equipments was commended by the Cameroonian health authorities, which has launched educational campaigns to the people, without forgetting the strengthening of control measures especially in the airports, ports and border areas.
