Nurses trained on better handling of patients

Over 25 nurses in the Limbe Health District have been trained on better methods of handling and management of patients who attend the various health units.

The training was the objective of a two-day workshop organised by a Limbe-based civil society organization, CAJAD.

The nurses were drawn from Mabeta to Sanje in Idenau municipality, Bojongo, Mokunda, Batoke Bonadikombo, Bakingili etc.

In his opening address, the Director of CAJAD said it is their wish to assist the District Medical Office in executing their functions.

Tchenpnang Bathelemey, said he hopes that the patients will enjoy the fruits of the training.

According to the CAJAD boss, the project is being supported by an international corporation agency known as MIMISA.

Apart from the training, the CAJAD director explained that they will provide water tanks in some health centres beginning this January since most hygienic problems are caused by lack of good water.

Mokunda, Sanje and Mabeta, amongst others will each have a three cubic meter water tank for storage.

The District Medical Officer, Dr Manjo Matilda Fon started by welcoming the participants. She said when the topic was brought to her, she was elated because it was an answer to the worries they had.

She thanked MIMISA Belgium for delving into her domain and promised that the results will be seen after the training.

At the end of the training the participants expressed satisfaction and lauded the CAJAD initiative and promised to be better service providers as they save lives of their patients.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive officer of CAJAD, Tchepnang Bathelemy joined words with the Communication Officer of MIMISA, Brice Marshall to thank MIMISA for believing in their concept, pledging that the results will have a multiplier effect all over Cameroon.
