Minsanté inaugurates a mother-child Center at Bonaberi

The establishment of the Medical Foundation Ad Lucem officially opened yesterday in Douala. The hospital Ad Lucem of Bonaberi now has a mother-child Center. The unit was inaugurated yesterday, 18 September 2014 by André Mama Fouda, Minister of public health.

The centre, with a capacity of 70 beds, is a two storey building on an area of 600 m². Dr. Theodore Bidjogo Atangana, administrator and CEO of the Medical Foundation Ad Lucem in Cameroon enumerated the different services found there saying, "Apart from the traditional activities of Pediatrics, Gynecology and obstetrics, this centre has developed a point of reference in support of male and female infertility. We specialize also in gynecological endoscopic".

He also reminded us of the Mission of the Foundation: "we remain ourselves, i.e. the Hospital of the poor, the destitute, because these categories of persons are also entitled to high quality medicine, but at a lower cost".

In response, the Minsante has approached the Mayor of Douala 4th: "I would encourage him to include in its budget support to health, not only public courses. Obviously because Ad Lucem practice prices that are not fixed gain money.

It is necessary to accompany the investment and Ad Lucem needs to be supported by all stakeholders". Especially in a context where "the indicators for maternal and child health are not yet at the desired level", said the Minister.

For the equipment of the centre, the Foundation has received large donations from private partners and the State: five 40-foot containers loaded with equipment, medical imaging equipment, a generator.

In this sense, whereas public-private partnerships as a key strategy to promote Cameroon health care policy and welcoming this another improvement in the supply of health André Mama Fouda added that: 'I will once again take this opportunity to express the recognition and encouragement of the Government in respect to Falc for efficient utilization of the grants available '.

And the entire construction and equipment cost nearly 350 million f. The ceremony yesterday was also an opportunity for staff and officials of the Foundation created in 1936 to receive official decorations as of May 20, 2014 and the medals of honour of the work.
