During the 3rd National Congress of infected people in Buenos Aires in Argentina, the researchers presented findings that 85% of tampons and sanitary napkins contain Glyphosate, a powerful herbicide.

Glyphosate is a systemic herbicide foliar total, which is a non-selective herbicide absorbed by the leaves and having a generalized action. Its presence in intimate products such as tampons and sanitary towels exposes the user to many risks.

According to Damian Marino, a member of the Multidisciplinary Area of Socio-Environmental Interaction (EMISA), 85% of the tested positive to Glyphosate and its derivative, Ampa, had 65%. Glyphosate is known as Roundup, according to La Nouvelle Expression ON Friday, October 30, 2015.

"There're brands that do not contain any of the two (Glyphosate or its derivative), others contain one of them, and others that contain both," revealed the researchers.

"When using gauze and cotton to heal wounds or for intimate use, it is believed that these are sterilized products, and in fact, they are contaminated with a carcinogenic substance," complained Dr. Medardo Avila Vasquez President of the Congress.

According to his explanations, it was a question of demonstrating the presence of a carcinogen in food. However, "43% of people had Glyphosate, at least at trace levels," he said.

For him, if the buffers contain Glyphosate, "mucous can actually be a route of contamination," he was quoted by the newspaper.
