The fight against Measles has again become a priority of the Ministry of Public Health after the disease killed two children in Cameroon.
Cases of children covered with small spots on their bodies had become rare in hospitals. Many thought that measles had disappeared in Cameroon.
But this week, the Northwest region informed two death cases of this lull revealing to the whole country about the sad reality and that measles is still within walls of Cameroon. The disease caused the death of two children in that region.
Measles is a highly contagious disease, known to affect all children of a household before it disappears.
The Ministry of Public Health will have to tackle the issue while the institution and its partners are almost done solving matters on polio.
Faced with the resurgence of the disease, Cameroon Tribune (CT) approached the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) to find out what can be implemented to contain the epidemic and also what can be planned nationally so that deaths are no longer recorded as a result of this condition.
