André Mama Fouda, Minister of Public Health, met with a delegation of the World Health Organization (WHO) to discuss the possibility of a universal health care system in Cameroon on Wednesday, September 2, 2015.

During the meeting, the idea was that every Cameroonian citizen will benefit from better access to health care at a lower cost.

The global coordinator of the Network for Social Protection in Health, Claude Mayer, said it would solve the upstream financing of health care in Cameroon.

Claude Mayer added that it is a prerequisite for the public health system in order to support and care for people especially the poor.

The delegation came from Geneva and the idea was driven by the global coordinator of the Network for Social Protection in Health.
