The Chancellor of the Catholic University Institute of Buea (CUIB) Bishop Immanuel Bushu recently inaugurated the Sr. Emmanuella Fomenky Memorial Foundation clinic at the CUIB Molyko Campus A in memory of Sr. Emmanuella Fomenky who passed away in 2013.

In a keynote address, the President of CUIB Rev. Fr George Nkeze said the clinic is a dream come true as it does not only satisfy the government regulation of every university to have a health centre but goes a long way to satisfy CUIB’s objectives of community engagement as the clinic will also be opened to members of the community as well at an affordable cost. He remarked that the clinic is dedicated to Sr. Emmanuella Fomenky for her selfless participation and believe in the CUIB vision.

He thanked all stakeholders who came on deck to sail through the project of establishing the clinic, mentioning Dr. Ngatchu Theodore who dedicated time to champion the project and the representatives from the Ministry of Health who believed and gave their support towards obtaining an authorization for the clinic to go operational.

Dr. Ngatchu Theodore in his word revealed that “It is emotional and fulfilling to see the project come true” adding that “I am very passionate abut Healthcare, its access and affordability to local communities”.

He assured the public of the competence of his staff and quality of their service saying he has established a Network of professionals who are readily available for further reference and consultation by his staff to ensure quality service. Dr. Ngatchu said his dream is to see the clinic emerge as the preferred medical centre in the future.

The Chancellor of CUIB Bishop Immanuel Bushu expressed gratitude to all who worked in realizing the project stating that the Sr. Emmanuella Fomenky Memorial Foundation clinic is a jewel in CUIB as it will address the Health situation of students, staff and faculty as well as the community.

The inauguration ceremony opened with a Holy Mass at the Economy of Communion Village where Bishop Bushu called on all to follow the example of Christ by doing simple things like visiting the sick and providing for the poor. The inauguration also marked the official opening of the clinic to the public.
