Stanley clears air on rivalry with Jovi LeMonstre

“I really appreciate the fact that Jovi is doing something and even though he may not like this but now, MTV can now play Cameroon music because I won it. They’ll say I’m proud but that is it!” Stanley Enow tells Pulse TV Exclusively.

Stanley Enow is a multiple award winning rapper from Cameroon but before his rise to fame, there was another rapper named Jovi LeMonstre; considered the ‘best lyricist’ in the country. So why can’t these two just work together?

After nearly two years of an alleged cold war between both hip hop artistes, Enow is finally spilling the beans behind their rumored beef!

“For me there’s no problem. We’ve never met and spoken for like 20 minutes,” the 2014 MAMAs Best New Act winner shares exclusive details about his relationship with Jovi on Pulse TV in Lagos.

“I don’t really know how this whole thing [beef] started. I think it’s jealousy because we’re both doing big stuff and it’s not easy to come see a young guy who overtakes you like [I did],” he continued.

Not wanting to withhold any more information, the ‘Njama Njama Cow‘ hit-maker decided to further clear the air on how he began by helping Jovi to promote his debut album – ‘H.I.V‘ – released in 2010 despite their current ‘unfriendly‘ situation.

“I was a TV presenter before and used to help all of them. When he first dropped [his album], I was there pushing Anglophones – because I come from the Anglophone part of the country – ” he said

“Even if I didn’t become the rapper which I am today, I was one of those who contributed to what the ‘English’ guys are even having right now. I used to share his [Jovi] pictures on my Facebook page and even used to change my profile picture to theirs… I don’t know, but at some point they just went so viral that they started comparing us… when we’ve never met and we’re not friends.”
