PSC Prod launches “Creativ” to identify talents

“Creativ” is a TV show that will see contestants compete through singing or repeating lines of songs by other music artistes. The show is intended to promote Cameroonian and African culture by projecting vocal and instrumental skills.

The first show dubbed “Musique,” focuses on two categories: acappella and vocal instrumental solos. Candidates have the choice of songs.

Five winners will be selected from each of the categories to share prize money of FCFA 5 million. Registration, which begins on July 1, 2016, and voting for candidates, will be carried out on WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Would-be contestants are expected to submit a one and half hour video of their work, and if competing in a group, the group picture, motivation letter and a presentation of the aspiring group.

Group members should be between four and 10. Results of the competition will be announced by PSD Prod in Douala in collaboration with a jury of four members.

Candidates will be presented between September 5-30, 2016. Meanwhile, the competition proper runs from October 3-December 2, 2016, with finals on Saturday, December 10, 2016.

“Creativ” will be entirely broadcast on local TV channels with the support of partners. The information was disclosed at a ceremony to present the idea in Akwa, Douala, on June 24, 2016.

Some would-be contestants had the opportunity to present a foretaste of what they have for the competition. They included Mabel FA and a vocal instrumental solo group.
