A five-day non-stop boxing matches for fans and local boxers who had had such an opportunity in a long time was organized in Yaoundé.

There were 40 local boxers and an Equatorial Guinea boxer, Armando Moliko, who met at the legendary Camp Unity in Yaoundé. The boxing promoters of Mboa, Joseph Bessala and Ndongo Ebanga, chose the venue which was always filled with mixed emotions during the matches.

There were six categories each for five boxers, thirty fights and entertaining shows which the public did not want to miss. Last Sunday, between handball matches and the finals of the boxing tournament, Magala, former handball player, chose to watch Mboa Boxing.

"It is rare to have this type of tournaments. I have seen very devoted and interesting fights with boxers who went three rounds without problems. It’s really amazing," he told CT. At Camp Unit, it was believed the evening matches were often broadcast on cable channels.

This tournament, organized as a championship, was a boon for Wilfried Seyi (big revelation at the competition according to the organizers) and other boxers.
Wilfried Seyi, 17, conquered the Gabonese boxer who participated in the match. With the African Championships in September and the World Championships in perspective, this competition was a good test.

"Aside the matches being broadcasted on the internet, there were various communication channels that showed the matches. We showed the matches via www.digitizen.com. These matches were followed around the world. Our aim was to create interests to attract sponsors for future editions. And I can assure you that we are being contacted. It is essential that young people are able to earn money through the fighting," said Claude Kouam, former amateur boxer and boxing promoter of Mboa.
