The leader of the political party, New Popular Movement, said he believes that the sector's regulatory body of communication in Cameroon has violated the law, in an interview with the privately owned daily, Le Jour in its 13 August 2015 edition.

The local TV channel, Afrique Media, have been closed down in Yaoundé and Douala. This is the incident that denounced those responsible for the media and the numerous regular guest panelists.

"When you read the decree forming the NCC, its mission is very specific. Concepts such as "framing of the panelists and harm to the personalities and foreign institutions" within diplomacy. If it is disturbing public order, it falls within the administration. The administrative authorities are responsible for finding out and rectifying qualify such offenses. But since when did the NCC replace the administrative authority, the President of the Republic as the guarantor of the foreign policy of our country and the Minister of Foreign Affairs not appreciating the effects it has on the supposed foreign countries,” he explained.

According to the interviewee, "these countries do not complain. However, there are several of such cases where not only the journalists of their countries uttered extremely serious issues against African leaders. The NCC never reacted.

Worse, the Minister of Communication, who defends the interests of the state in terms of communication, questioned the NCC on certain excesses that demeans the head of state. The NCC has violently rejected the Minister of Communication. Clearly we have here, a double standard."

Moreover, Banda Kani states that the mandate of the NCC, provided that the document denominating the Africa Media sanction, have fallen. "The implementation period of the sanction is from June. In the document denominating Afrique Media’s sanction, it says "from".

We are in August. Besides we got a stay of execution to the Supreme Court which resulted in a certificate of administrative law which is proof. This means that the decision is suspended until the authorities settle. Obviously facing this, we defended our premises. This is a business. When not run for a day, it runs at a loss."

Furthermore, "The mandate of the NCC is foreclosed for almost a year. The decree that created the NCC said that in case of vacancy of the presidency of the institution, the interim is ensured for six months by the Vice President. After this period of six months, the NCC is illegal. In a state of law, we cannot allow an institution of the Republic to shamelessly violate the law. "

These arguments have led those responsible for this television, its employees and permanent guests to oppose the action of the authorities. "We are not opposed to the closure of our offices. We are opposed to the assault. People cannot walk in illegality in daylight and force us to submit to this illegality!"
