New head of Cameroon Linguistics centre installed

New officials were formally given the mandate to manage the Language Centre used for the bilingual language training program, yesterday in Yaoundé.

They were Mathieu Wandja, Maurice Ngompe, Jacques Mathurin Ze, Sadjo Amoa and Nama Nama who was recently promoted.

During the ceremony chaired by the Deputy Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Prof. Agbor Tabi, said, "From this day onwards, you are called to support the Director of Language Centre to administer the policy and organization of educational programs according to the needs expressed by our customers".

The officials will be presented with suitable learning materials to assist learners in order access the academic performances and drafting of activity reports.

"The bilingual program is very important to the President of the Republic. That is why they have been called to manage the institution’s affairs, taking into account the efforts they put in executing their roles. We want these efforts to be increased. They have the opportunity to be the prime instigators of this very important policy of the head of state,” said Assistant Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic.

The director of the Language Centre, Brigitte Edibi Mvoundi, said the goal remains the same; which is the promotion of bilingualism in Cameroon. It is a question of bringing a large number of Cameroonians to learn both official languages, that is, French and English. In this reform, the owner of the premises has it in mind that the infrastructure needs to be extended.
