Jean-Marc Bikoko regains his freedom

Jean-Marc Bikoko, members of Dynamique Citoyenne and journalist Fotso Fogno were freed on Wednesday, September 23.

They were arrested on September 15 during a workshop they held on democracy alternation, in Yaoundé. This was during the World Democracy Day. They were released around 4.30 pm.

According to Cameroon-info.net, he was accused of holding a meeting without prefectural authority. The first hearing is set for October 28, 2015, at the Court of Major Jurisdiction at Yaoundé where they must respond to the charge of “simple rebellion and resistance to authority.”

While they were kept in the cells of the n ° 1 mobile Intervention Police Group (GMI) of Yaoundé, several voices decried the arbitrary quality of detention of Jean-Marc Bokoko and his friends.
