In a surprise attack attributed to Boko Haram in the village of Bakeresse, a small town in Kerawa bordering Nigeria, two civilians were killed and about thirty houses burned, said Tuesday evening by a security source in the Far North.
"The assailants arrived on motorcycles, shooting in the air. People were frightened and fled leaving livestock and their homes. They burned everything in their path including thirty homes. Livestock was taken away during the attack," says our source.
Informed by the vigilance committee, the army organized a response: "before the arrival of our defense forces, the attackers had time to take refuge on the other side of the border," says our source.
This new attack attributed to Boko Haram, comes after that of the last week in Dawsaff-Vreket in Mayo-Moskota where a Cameroonian soldier died. Twenty assailants had been killed in the fight, it was learned.
