Cameroon pose difficult threat - Bafana Bafana Midfielder

Bafana Bafana continue their 2015 African Cup of Nations preparations with a warm-up match against Cameroon in Libreville, Gabon on Saturday evening.

For Shakes Mashaba's men the game will be a stern test and ideal preparation one week before the tournament kicks-off in Bata, Equatorial Guinea.

South Africa will be confident heading into the encounter having qualified for the tournament unbeaten while also racking up friendly wins over Ivory Coast and Zambia.

Cameroon were equally impressive in their qualifying campaign, winning four and drawing two as they finished top of Group D.

The Indomitable Lions possess a formidable strike force and will be a great test for Bafana ahead of the African showpiece, Bafana Bafana midfielder Dean Furman agrees.

“Cameroon is one of the top teams on the continent, they are strong and they will pose a difficult threat. I am certain they will be confident going forward in the tournament so it's a great test for us and certainly a great way to prepare,” Furman told SAFA Media.

Bafana though will fancy their chances against Volker Finke's men who continued their Afcon fine tuning with a 1-1 draw with the Democratic Republic on Wednesday.

In the six previous meetings between the two sides Bafana have won three, drew two and lost one. This will be something that coach Shakes Mashaba will be hoping to maintain when the sides lock horns at the weekend.

The upcoming friendly in Gabon will be the first time the teams have met outside of South Africa’s borders.
