Boko Haram: France plans to organize a new meeting

François Hollande François Hollande

The countries involved in the fight against Boko Haram will again meet in Paris to consider joint actions, François Holland announced on Tuesday, August 25, 2015.

"In a few days, I will welcome the new Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, and I will confirm to him that France is ready to bring together all stakeholders in the fight against Boko Haram", said the head of the French State before the ambassadors of his country in Paris. He added, "It is to bring together our services, share information, and also to be able to act in the region.”

According to the French president, "all countries in the region are concerned; Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad and Niger. We owe them an unfailing solidarity because they are friends, and because these countries also contribute to the balance of all West Africa,” said the president.

Through this initiative, France will certainly give a boost to the intervention of the joint multinational force composed of armies of Cameroon, Nigeria, Chad and Niger, which is shortly to be deployed in the Northeast of Nigeria.

The Boko Haram attacks have already caused more than 15,000 deaths in six years, mainly in the Northeast of Nigeria.
