The flagship of Cameroon journalism, Denise Laurence Djengue Epoté excelled at every level of her television career from CTV presenter to TV5 director. After starting her career in radio, at the creation of the Cameroonian television CRTV, in 1985, she became the first broadcaster to present the 8:30pm news. Ten years later she was recruited by TV5 Monde (now TV5 Africa) for her immeasurable talent.

She spent four years in charge of formatting programs for the weekly stall of the Francophone channel on the continent. In 1998, with the creation of the regional entities, she became Africa director.

Epoté, born November 1954, in Nkongsamba, is the eldest of four children. The ESIJY graduate went into exile in France in 1991 in favour of a marriage. Denise Laurence Djengue Epoté is her maiden name but opted to keep her maiden name and spouse name. Her father is Jean Claude Epoté a former official Provincial Controller of Finance, a former member of the CPDM.
