Cameroon friendlies helped us - Bitok

The National Volleyball team coach Paul Bitok says there are positives to take from the three friendly games that the national team played against Cameroon last week despite losing all of them.

Cameroon defeated Rwanda 3-0 in the first game on Wednesday; the national side improved in the next two friendlies but still lost both games 3-2.

In a telephone interview, Bitok said the games were supposed to give him an informed view of the team as they prepare for the upcoming Zone V Championships, which runs from May 1-6.

"These games have helped me know what to work on before the start of the Zone V Games. Cameroon used their strong services to kill our game but we have learned a lot and we are going to work on it," Bitok said

Five countries will take part in the week-long tournament; they include: Rwanda, hosts Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

The winner will qualify for the 2015 All Africa Games to be held in Congo Brazzaville from September 4-19.
