Termena trains wheelchair tennis coaches in Cameroon

Nigeria’s International Tennis Federation (ITF) certified coach Frank Termena, will this week embark on a Development Fund Programme in Cameroon, which will see him train wheelchair tennis coaches and players in Cameroon.

In a chat, before his departure for the West African country Termena disclosed that he was picked by the ITF to go to the neighbouring African country for the training, having started the work with them in 2003. “It is an ITF Wheelchair Tennis Development Fund Programme, which is in continuation of the training that I started in the country in 2003. I have been asked by the ITF to assess their improvement and identify where the improvement is most needed”, Termena revealed.

“There shall also be a training workshop for all the coaches in the country as well as the players to brief them on the latest tricks in the sport, especially with the training which I had in London as Africa’s only representative to the Conference”.

Termena believes that his experience with the disabled players, from April 16-21, 2015 will boost Wheelchair Tennis in Cameroon as the ITF has already provided adequate materials for the developmental project.

According to him, “ITF has already sent Wheelchairs, Racquets, Balls and funds for logistics.

Yohan Cryuff is also partnering with the ITF to develop tennis in every country, where the game is becoming popular. We hope that this development breeds great results in the nearest future”.
