Turkish outfit Antalyaspor have announced the imminent capture of Sampdoria’s Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto’o.

The 34-year-old, who joined the Serie A outfit from Everton on a two-and-a-half-year deal last January, is about to have his current contract terminated so he can put pen to paper with the newly-promoted S?per Lig side, according to the club’s chairman.

“We have reached an agreement with Eto'o and his agent,” Antalyaspor president Gultekin Gencer said.

“We just need to work out some small details.

“The Sampdoria board have to terminate his contract first and they gave us confirmation that they will do so on Wednesday - then we can sign him,” he added.

Should the Cameroon star finalise his move to Turkey, he could reunite with former Barcelona teammate Ronaldinho.

“We are opening talks with Ronaldinho,” Gencer also mentioned.

“His brother, Roberto Assis, will be in Antalya on Thursday. Then we will start the negotiations on Friday.”
