MVP nomination boosts Aboubakar's morale

The Cameroonian striker scored the goal that allowed FC Porto to beat Arouca has earned him MVP nomination.

The goal that allowed FC Porto to beat Arouca, for match day 25 of the Portuguese League, was scored by Vincent Aboubakar and earned him the MVP nomination for that match.

In a good momentum, the international Cameroonian striker – that debuted in the list of winners, and became the eighth player in the squad to win it this season – stated that the award, voted by the fans at the stadium, is consequence of the work that he has been developing throughout the season.

“This award just shows that the work we have been developing is on the right path. And I have to thank Ricardo Quaresma for the cross that allowed me to score. It’s an award that brings more confidence and means that what I’m doing is working.

I want to keep working so I can give all I have for this team”, the number 99 stated, just minutes before joining another training session held at the Centro de Treinos e Formação Desportiva PortoGaia, in Olival, this Tuesday.

“Abou”, as he is called by his team mates, has already scored six goals with the white and blue jersey and, after making the pass that allowed Cristian Tello to score the winning goal against Sporting de Braga, scored his first goal in Liga NOS at Estádio do Dragão, against Arouca, a team that he had already scored against in the first round of the season.

The Cameroonian international star is on a good streak and made a point of thanking “the coach, the entire staff and all his team mates”, as they helped him win the award.
