Cameroon’s Cosmos de Bafia thrashed Uganda’s Kampala Capital City (KCC) 3-0 on Sunday to progress to the Caf Champions League first round on a 3-1 aggregate.
Brace hero Tombi Alemi Francis gave the hosts the lead in the first half before helping himself to a second later.
Ekamba Cyrille grabbed the other as the Cameroonians overturned a 1-0 deficit from the Kampala leg.
Cosmos will now meet Tunisia’s Esperance in the first round of the competition and will host the first leg later this month.
Coach Abdallah Mubi’s KCC had got into this encounter riding on Herman Wasswa’s goal from the first leg and knew a draw would have sufficed for their Champions League ambitions.
But it was not to be as the Ugandan champions continued their degeneration in the competition having been eliminated in the first round last season.
