Roberto Martinez STALLING over letting Eto'o leave Everton for Sampdoria

ROBERTO MARTINEZ is delaying a decision on the future of Samuel Eto'o as Sampdoria step up their pursuit of the striker.

The Everton manager indicated he will wait until the end of the transfer window before assessing whether to sell Eto'o.

Italian side Sampdoria are chasing the Cameroon forward, who only arrived at Everton in August on a free transfer but has fallen out of favour with Martinez.

Eto'o was left out of Everton's squad for the FA Cup defeat to West Ham on Tuesday.

"We had a couple of enquiries, but it wasn't anything concrete, nothing clear," said Martinez. "With Samuel we are going to take a couple of weeks to decide what the next step is. I don't rule anything in or out, it could well be that Samuel stays with us. We are going to see what is the best for the club and for Samuel as well."
