Achille Webo quits Lions

Fenerbahçe forward Pierre Achille Webo has announced his retirement from international football, after 11 years with Cameroon national team.

The 32-year-old former Mallorca player released a statement on Sunday thanking his former teammates and colleagues and wishing the Indomitable Lions good luck in their future engagements.

Webo becomes the third Cameroon international to retire from the outfit in less than two weeks, after Jean II Makoun of French Ligue 1 Stade Rennais and Everton new signing Samuel Eto’o.

Webo joined the Lions in 2003, receiving 58 caps and scoring 18 goals, but was not called up by coach Volker Finke for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against DR Congo and Ivory Coas
