Juventus target Eto’o as ‘plan B’

Serie A champions Juventus are reportedly preparing to launch of bid for Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o should their pursuit of Didier Drogba fall through.

Speculation regarding the future of the 33-year-old has been rife with his relationship with coach Jose Mourinho believed to be rocky, having recently branded the Portuguese a ‘puppet’.

In addition, reports claim that Mourinho is ready to instigate a squad overhaul during the summer, with the manager willing to sell their current crop of players to fund transfers in order to reinforce the side.

As a result, the Bianconeri have been linked with a move for Eto’o with Gazzetta dello Sport reporting that the club will bid for the Cameroon striker should negotiations with Didier Drogba fall through.

Eto’o made 21 Premier League appearances this season, scoring nine goals and racking up two assists in the process.
