FC Barcelona puts Alex Song on transfer for £12m

Europe’s most powerful club, Barcelona, have made Cameroon indomitable Lion’s midfielder Alex Song available for transfer. Clubs interested in Song must be ready to dish out a whooping sum of £12m.

Manchester United have been linked with a surprise move for the midfielder, who left Arsenal to join the Nou Camp giants in 2012, according to Talksport.com which reported Song has failed to win over the Barcelona fans.

Media reports say the 26 years-old will be allowed to leave in the summer.

Talksport.com said Barca are set for a period of upheaval, with coach Tata Martino’s future also uncertain, while Song appears set for the exit door.

Manchester United, reports say, remain an interest although it has cooled in recent weeks while Napoli are also in the running.

Fan of the Cameroon midfielder have been quick to react to this development. “For a Cameroonian to survive in Barca, he has to have at least the standards that Eto’o has set. That can be too hard to meet up especially for someone playing in the midfield or back, where goal scoring is not an option for you. He better leaves now at 26, as big teams are chasing him hot,” a fan said.
