World Cup Debacle: Motaze Commission submits report

The report on the causes of the 2014 World Cup debacle, demanded by President Biya, has been completed following an audition of members of the Cameroon delegation to Brazil by the Motaze commission set up by the Prime Minister, Philemon Yang.

It took a month, from June 25-July 25 to produce the 29 page report that has been dropped on Philemon Yang’s table and expected to be sent to President Biya.

Biya ordered for an investigation after Cameroon’s woeful performance and poor behaviour at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil where the Lions came out with no point, conceding nine goals and scoring only one.

Sources maintain that the Motaze Commission investigating the causes of the mediocre performance auditioned the Coach Volker Finke and Samuel Eto’o Fils twice.

The commission despite public opinion is said to have concluded that the Lions staff should be allowed time to build a team for the 2015 African Nations Cup.

However, only President Biya has the final say on out-come of the investigation but Cameroonians are eager to know what will transpire.

Will there be sanctions and can this investigation help in revitalizing Cameroon football, these and many more questions remain unanswered.

It should be noted that this is an important issue which Cameroonians are expecting the Minister of communication, government spokes-person to make an official statement.
