We play for Cameroon and Africa - Eto'o

As the Indomitable Lions are about to kick-off their 2014 World Cup campaign, against Mexico in Natal this Friday, skipper Samuel Eto’o thanked the Cameroonian people for their support and promised them to carry high the national colours in a moving letter.

“On the eve of the opening game of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon at the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 against Mexico in Group A, I would like hereby to express my warmest thanks to you all for your unfailing support to our group and myself as the captain,” Eto’o wrote on his official page, also thanking the Head of State, Paul Biya, Cameroonian legend Roger Milla and all his teammates.

“I can promise you that with your usual tremendous support, we are going to fight against all odds to carry high the torch of our national team, the Indomitable Lions, “ardent symbol of faith and unity” for the glory of Cameroon and Africa.

“Almighty God blessed us with the world’s most beautiful jersey.

It is priceless. We want to deserve these colours,” concluded the four-time African Player of the Year who is competing in Brazil at his fourth World Cup finals.
