Ugandan champs target Cosmos De Bafia win

Uganda League Champions, KCCA FC have vowed to capitalize on home advantage to get a good result when they host Cameroon’s Cosmos De Bafia on Saturday in the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

Abudallah Mubiru, the KCCA FC Head Coach has said they will be all out to win and also make their fans happy at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

The Coach who will have his first test of Champions league football after being assistant to George Nsimbe last year when KCCA FC bowed out in the first round to Zambia’s Nkana FC said getting early goals will be very important.

“We know West African players are very strong and can be dangerous. But we shall go all out to try and get early goals and defend cautiously,” said Mubiru who however admitted he does not know much about the visiting team.

Experienced goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan who featured for the Uganda Cranes at the 2014 Africa Nations Championship is likely to start the game alongside the likes of Sakka Mpiima, Ronnie Kisekka, Owen Kasule and William Wadiri.

However, head coach Thomas Libiih said his only worry about KCCA is the fact they know nothing about the club though he said that they target a decent result that will it easy for them to finish job at home in Yaoundé two weeks later.

Last year the Uganda champions last year managed to eliminate Sudan’s El Merreikh in the preliminary round but lost to Zambia’s Nkana FC in the first round.
