Triangle sign Cameroonian player

Struggling lowveld Premiership side Triangle FC have added firepower to their side by signing Cameroonian Herve Djouta. He joined the club on a year’s contract and is relieved that he has since received his international clearance certificate. This paves way for him to make his debut for the club this weekend in the Chibuku Super Cup.

His availability will certainly be a relief to coach Biggie Zuze who is keen to make an impression at Triangle. Djouta signed the 12-month deal in July but because of delays in his work permit he could not feature for the Tongaat Hullet side.

He had been training with the side from July. Tinashe Gomba, the player’s agent who was in the lowveld confirmed yesterday that Djouta had finally received his necessary documentation and would be ready for selection.

We finally received the international clearance for my player. “We received his permit on Friday and a confirmation letter that states that he is not attached to any club”. Said Gomba.

“He featured for Dragon Yaounde in Cameroon but the team is not in the elite league. You know players in West Africa don’t want to be linked with big clubs because they want to move abroad.” he said.

He said his player is eyeing an international move next year as he signs this one year contract. The player seeks to move abroad so he doesn’t want to hinder him. Djouta signed his contract sometime in July this year for just one season. “We are planning to find him a team that is playing in the champions’ league next year”. Gomba added.

Djouta is expected to compete with strikers Nhamo Lameck, Felix Kuswatuka, Richard Kawondera for a start.

Triangle chairman Lovemore Matikinyidze however was not available yesterday to comment on the transfer.
