Samuel Eto'o offered to QPR

QPR have been offered former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o but are unlikely to pursue the deal owing to his wages.

The 34-year-old Cameroon striker is a free agent after his one year deal at Stamford Bridge ran out this summer.

And Harry Redknapp had identified the former Barcelona hitman as an option to lead the line for his newly promoted side - but Eto'o's wage demands provide a major stumbling block for any deal.

Under Jose Mourinho last season the veteran centre forward managed 12 goals in 35 appearances - with all of his strikes coming at Stamford Bridge, including a hat-trick against Manchester United.

While the offer of Eto'o would provide QPR with a proven goalscorer in the hunt for Premier League survival, Redknapp does not believe that bringing in the one-time best paid player in the world would be a good use of his newly-promoted side's limited resources.
