Russia 2018 qualifiers: Cameroon in tough Group B

The draws for the five qualifiers from Africa for the FIFA World Cup taking place in Russia in 2018 took place on Thursday at the CAF secretariat in Cairo.

Three-time African champions, Nigeria, have been given an uphill task with the composition of their group.

Nigeria's Super Eagles are drawn in Group B, which comprises Zambia, Cameroon and the highest ranked African team, Algeria.

The event was moderated by a Fifa representative who welcomed everyone to the "cradle of civilization". He was assisted by current and former players.

Nigeria, currently ranked 61 by FIFA in the world and 12th in Africa, were placed in Pot 2.

Before the draws began, a video tribute to the late Stephen Keshi was showed and a one-minute standing silence was also observed in memory of the great player and manager.

Arsenal's Mohammed El Neny helped in the Pot 4 draws, which came first and Libya came out as the first nation.
