Owona alleges, Abdouraman denies owing Fecafoot FCFA 6million

Joseph Owona, Fecafoot Transition President is accusing Abdouraman Hamadou Babba, detained former Fecafoot President, Iya Mohammed’s Cabinet Director for owing justification of FCFA 6,570,179 to the Federation.

Abdouraman on the other hand has denied owing any justification or money to the federation. In a confidential letter written to Abdouraman on August 5, Owona indicated that during the period, the latter was given a sum of FCFA 9, 695,288 for a mission.

“The accountant’s records showed that at the end of the 2011, you provided justification for FCFA 3,120, 824. You still have to provide justification for FCFA 6,570, 179, an amount which appears under the column, ‘advance to be justified’, in the audit conducted by the Bekolo partners on March 2013, page20”, the letter reads.

Owona demanded that Abdouraman take measures to regularise the situation before August 13, otherwise legal procedures would be taken to recover the money in line with Fecafoot statutes.

In reply to Owona on August 6, Abdouraman expresses shock at the resurface of an issue which he thought had been resolved. He stated that 12 months following his resignation from Fecafoot, the Secretary General wrote to him on this subject matter.

Then, he wrote back to assert that the documents justifying the amount in question had been provided to the head of finance and administrative department.

Abdouraman who doubles as the President of Etoile Filante of Garoua maintained that he is available for whatever proceedings the federation would take. Also, he stressed that the statutes of the federation would have to provide legal decision establishing the veracity of the allegations.
