Napoli infuriate Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool with offer for £15m for Song

NAPOLI have ruffled Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool feathers by making the first move for Barcelona outcast ALex Song.

Reports claim that Rafael Benitez is keen on bringing the talented midfield enforcer to the Stadio San Paolo this summer.

The 26-year-old has become disillusioned with his inability to cement a regular first-team spot at the Nou Camp, and is likely seek salvation elsewhere this summer.

Song's misery has been compounded by the arrival of new manager Luis Enrique who is rumoured to have demanded a squad reshuffle - leaving the Cameroon international vulnerable.

Song left the Emirates in 2012 for a fee of £15m, a sale that many Arsenal fans bemoan to this day.

However Arsene Wenger is unlikely to pass this opportunity for redemption by re-signing the ex-Gunner, who is said to be open to the idea of a return.

Brendan Rodgers has made no secret of his desire to bolster his squad in preparation next season's busy Champions League schedule and acquiring a former Champions League runner-up could represent business.

With transfers for Toni Kroos, Kevin Strootman and Bastian Schweinsteiger all seemingly fruitless, Louis Van Gaal may well decide to spend a fraction of his £200m war chest on Song.
