Mbia unavailable for 15 days - Medical report

As expected, Stéphane Mbia went for medical examinations on Monday, January 5, 2015 in Spain to ascertain the gravity of injury incurred last Saturday during a match of the Spanish Professional League.

The captain of the national team of Cameroon will not be left out of the final phase of the AFCON 2015 which starts on Saturday, January 17th in Equatorial Guinea.

But he could miss the first two matches of the Indomitable Lions. "Mbia suffered a muscle injury in his right leg. His unavailability is between ten and fifteen days' informed the medical staff of Sevilla FC, the professional team of the Cameroonian international.

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon play their first match on January 20, 2015 against Mali. The second game will be against Guinea Conakry on 24th January 2015 and the third and final match of the first round will be against Ivory Coast on January 28, 2015.

Already suspended from the first match because of the red card fined November 19 in Abidjan against Côte d'Ivoire, Stéphane Mbia, in the event of rapid recovery, could play the match against the Syli national or in the worst case, Homecoming against the Ivorian Elephants.

However, the captain of the Cameroon team is expected in Yaoundé for the preparatory course at the Equato-Guinean expedition.
