Lwisa to Oversee TP Mazembe, Douala Tie

THE Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Tanzanian Alfred Lwiza as commissioner for the forthcoming Champions League match between Congolese giants TP Mazembe and FC Douala of Cameroon.

The four-time winners TP Mazembe, led by Tanzanian striking duo of Mbwana Samata and Thomas Ulimwengu, welcome FC Doula for their first round, second leg match in Lubumbashi on Saturday.

The match will be arbitrated by Ugandan referee Dennis Bate, who will be assisted on the flanks by compatriots Mark Ssonko and Samuel Kayondo.

The winner over both legs will face the victor of the first round tie involving Sewe Sport of Ivory Coast and BYC of Liberia in the pre-group round on the weekend of March 22.

TP Mazembe were held to a 1-1 draw at Les Astres during the first leg and will be craving for a victory to sail through to the next round. Key to their quest will be the Taifa Stars duo Samata and Ulimwengu, who will spearhead their team's attacks on Saturday.

Samatta and Ulimwengu failed to join up with the national soccer team, Taifa Stars, for last night's international friendly match at Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek due to time factor.

There were no available flights to enable them get to Windhoek 48 hours before the match and also a flight that would ferry them back on time to fulfill their club's commitments.
