Lions receive warm welcome at Mfandena

In Yaounde, the national football team and the public have a special relationship.

A large crowd of supporters welcomed and encouraged the Indomitable Lions upon arrival at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Omnisports stadium for their training session on Monday.

The presence of the fans on the field was as a result of the 3-0 win in Niamey.

The gendarmerie sirens had hardly announced the arrival of the Indomitable Lions' bus when fans lined up at the entrance of the stadium. There was jubilation when the bus finally arrived. Shouts of encouragement, applause, congratulations and other unique messages were heard.

This atmosphere paved the way for a beautiful reunion between these players and the public who had not been very kind to them, during the match Cameroon - Mauritania (1-0) of the first day of qualifying for the African Nations Cup (Can) 2017.

The winning goal was late in arriving, and fans, tired of waiting, had begun to boo their own players.

There is no doubt that the Mfandena stadium would be full to capacity.
