Lions, Teranga Lions, Blue Sharks on course

Cameroon, Cape Verde and Senegal maintained their winning momentum in the qualifiers with victories in Day Two (Wednesday) of the journey for places at the Orange Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2015.

There were also wins for Algeria, Congo and Tunisia, who cemented their places at the summit of their respective groups.

Seven-time winners, Egypt succumbed to their second successive loss, after North African fellows Tunisia pip them 1-0 in Cairo, just as former winners Ethiopia and Sudan.

Below is the round-up of the groups

Group A

Congo cruised to their second win of the campaign beating Sudan 2-0 in Pointe-Noire. Ferebory Dore and Prince Oniangue scored in either half to power Diables Rouges to the summit of the group with the maximum six points from two games.

Elsewhere in Cape Town, South Africa were held to a barren draw by African champions, Nigeria.

Group B

Ethiopia crushed to their second defeat losing 3-2 to Malawi in Blantyre. Atusaye Nyondo scored a brace and the other from Frank Banda, the other scorer whilst Getaneh Kebede and Yussuf Saleh were on target for the Ethiopians

Carl Medjani's goal seven minutes from was enough to hand Algeria a lone goal win over visiting Mali in Blida.

Group C

Les Etalons of Burkina Faso brought Luanda to a sleep beating the Palancas Negras 3-0. Striker Aristide Bance scored two minutes to half time before Jonathan Pitroipa increased the tally four minutes from the break. Pitroipa wrapped up the game with the third goal on 57 minutes.

Elsewhere, Lesotho were held 1-1 by Gabon in Maseru. Emmanuel Lekhanya opened the scores for the hosts on 65 minutes only for Levy Madinda to restore parity three minutes from time.

Group D

Cameroon tore apart Cote d'Ivoire 4-1 in Yaounde with in-form Clinton N'jie and Vincent Aboubakar netting a brace each. Yaya Toure's 25 minute served the consolation for the Elephants.

A goal each in the second half from Firmin Mubele and Jeremy Bokila gifted DR Congo a 2-0 win over Sierra Leone in Lubumbashi. The Leone Stars, who were hosting the game in Lubumbashi due to the outbreak of Ebola in their country, are pointless after the two opening games.

Uganda moved to the summit of the group thanks to a first half brace by Geoffrey Massa powered them to a 2-0 win over Guinea in Kampala.

Elsewhere in Lome, Frank Atsu scored a late winner for Ghana's Black Stars to edge neighbours Togo in a five-goal thriller. The Togolese went up after only 11 minutes through Floyd Ayite. Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan restored parity on 23 minutes before Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu put the visitors up before half time. Emmanuel Adebayor leveled on 76 minutes before Atsu nailed the game five minutes from time.

Group F

Cape Verde overpowered Zambia with a 2-1 win in Praia. Ze Luis and Ryan Mendes scored for the Islanders whilst Jacob Mulenga was on target in between for the Zambians.

In Maputo, Mozambique were held to a 1-1 draw by Niger. On five minutes, Domingues opened the scores for the Mambas and Mahamane Cisse canceled the scores on 25 minutes to earn the Nigeriens their first point of the campaign.

Group G

Tunisia made matters worse for Egypt after inflicting a painful lone goal victory on their North African rivals Egypt in Cairo. Fakhreddine Ben Youssef scored on 14 minutes scored the only goal.

In Gaborone, Sadio Mane and Dame N'Doye were on target in each half as Senegal silenced Botswana away.
