Lionesses begin training for Olympics qualifiers

The Indomitable Lionesses in less than one week after beating Ethiopia to qualify for the 2015 African Games have returned to camp today to start preparing for the Olympics qualifier against Liberia.

The match was supposed to take place at the end of the month of May but was moved to early May at the request of Cameroon, to give the Lionesses time to prepare for the World Cup to take place in Canada.

As such, the away leg will take place in Yaounde on May 3rd and the return leg, three days later; May 6th. Both the away and return leg matches will be taking place in Yaounde due to the fact that, Liberia is just coming out from an Ebola epidemic.

To prepare for the encounters, the coach of the Lionesses has published a list of 26 home-based players to take part in the training camp that begins today.

They will be joined by 14 professionals next week. Enow Ngatchu says the present training camp will continue even after the dual confrontation with Liberia up to the World Cup.

Meanwhile, the Girls have been paid bonuses owed them for the qualifiers games against Ethiopia. They are now expecting clarifications on the amount of the different bonuses which will be given to them during their participation at the World cup in Canada.

After the World Cup in May, the Lionesses will have to prepare to defend their title at the All African games in Congo-Brazzaville in September.
