League 1: UMS,YOSA in protracted distant duel

The tussle for leadership which has been going on between Yong Sports and UMS of Loum since the resumption of the second phase of the championship will continue today with matches counting for the 26th day of play scheduled in stadia across the country.

Yong Sport will be out to narrow the four point-point gap separating them from the league leaders, when they play host to newly promoted Racing Bafoussam in Bamenda. Meanwhile UMS will be seeking to widen the leadership gap when the lock horns with Aigle Royal.

Meanwhile in advanced Day 26 encounter on Saturday in Mbouda, Union of Douala suffered a setback bowing 2-3 to stagnate at the 4th position. Coton Sport in the third position with 40 points just as Union of Douala will be out not only to distance self from Union but also re-launch their campaign to re-conquer the championship title when they play host to visiting Dragon of Yaounde.

Unisport of Bafang in the 5th position and New Stars of Douala in the 6th position are not left out of the contention for the league title or continental competitions yet and will be trying to inch closer to the top trio when they take on Canon and Cosmos respectively.

The battle will be of another kind at the bottom of the table where teams right up to the 12 position are threatened by relegation. Apejes the first team below the relegation line will be trying to leap out of the danger zone when they take on Astres in Douala while Dragon of Yaounde will also be out to salvage their season when they clash with Coton Sport.

Canon of Yaounde and Eding Sport just above the red line, are not left out of the battle for survival they take on Unisport and Lion Blessé respectively.
