KCC defeats Cosmos De Bafia in 1st leg

A late goal 7 minutes from full time by striker Herman Wasswa gave Kampala City Council (KCC) a slim goal lead coming into the CAF Champions league return leg against Cameroon opposition, Cosmos De Bafia on Saturday at Nelson Mandela Stadium, Namboole.

Cosmos De Bafia F.C finished the game with 10 men after their lead striker Patrick Nai was red carded in the 55th minute for two bookable offenses.

The Cameroon Champions had started the game strongly and narrowly missed taking the lead on two different intervals.

Strikers, Ntjaka Guy Marcel and Patrick Nai were frustrated by goal keeper, Yasin Mugabi whose shot stopping antics kept KCC in the game.

This was the second game of the CAF club Competitions at Namboole following URA’s CAF Confederations 3-2 triumph over Madagascan club, ASSM Elgeco Plus F.C less than 24 hours.

The two Ugandan clubs will travel to play their respective return away legs on the weekend of 6th -8th March 2015.

Both teams will play on the artificial turf surface in Madagascar and Cameroon for URA and KCC F.C respectively.
