Indomitable Lionesses to play South Africa in AWC opener

The Cameroon Senior National Women’s team, the Indomitable Lionesses will play South Africa women's team in the opening match of the 9th Edition of the CAF African Women’s Championships schedued for Windhoek, Namibia from 11 – 25 October.

This Group B opening match will take place on 12 October 2014 at the Independence Stadium and will kick-off at 17h00 local time (18h00 South African time).

The draw for the Championship was conducted on Saturday night, 19 July at the Windhoek Country Club hotel in Namibia.

In Cameroon Group is South Africa, Algeria and Ghana while Group A comprise of hosts Namibia, Zambia, Ivory Coast and Nigeria.

The four countries in each group will play a round-robin system, with the top two teams advancing to the semifinals.

The top three finishers at the tournament will automatically qualify for the 2015 Fifa Women’s World Cup, scheduled in Canada.
